Job Description:

Adecco Employment Services is assisting a Liverpool Machine Shop in recruiting for a temp to hire opportunity for a first shift welder! This position requires proficient abilities with the following welding processes to join metal assemblies: GMAW, FCAW, GTAW and Brazing.

Primary job responsibility is to perform a wide variety of welding and brazing tasks, often to exacting quality standards and dimensional tolerances.

Welder will assemble and weld/braze delicate weldments. Assemble and weld large structural assemblies holding tight tolerances.

Welder Sets up and operates metal fabricating machines such as brakes, drills, rolls, shears, saws, and presses to perform any combination of bending, punching, straightening, roll forming, cutting, clinching, soldering, spot welding, of metal to fabricate items such as metal plates, sheets, structural shapes, rims, molding, cams, tubing, and housings specified by blueprint, specifications or work orders.

Welder operates welding positioners with manual and semiautomatic welding machines to produce welded joints.

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Trains Level B, Level C welders.

- Assisting with weld inspection.

- Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.

Uses the following welding processes to join metal assemblies: GMAW, FCAW, GTAW and Brazing.

Uses the following cutting processes to separate metal: Plasma arc and Oxy-Acetylene Torch.

Locates and marks welding, bending or cutting lines and reference points on workpiece, using instruments, such as rule compass, or by tracing from templates.

Positions workpiece using clamp stops, turntables and guides or aligns layout marks with dies or cutting blades manually or using hoist.

Inspects dimension of finished product visually or using micrometers, calipers, rule, template or gages.

Communicates with co-workers and other department Supervisors regarding instructions and coordinating workload.

Perform scheduled and nonscheduled maintenance on equipment such as welding machines, grinders, and drills.

Inspects finished product of welding assignments.

Shall be able to pass personal certification requirements for GTAW Stainless Steel pipe in the 6G position with backing per AWS D1.1 (current version).
