Job Description:

Bishop Center is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Food Service Director to join their team in Syracuse, NY.Duties include:

• Staff supervision: Plan, assign, and inspect the work of Food Service Staff to ensure high-quality service.
• Staff scheduling and payroll: Schedule and assign staff, and prepare department payroll for data entry.
• Inventory management: Order all food supplies and equipment for the department, and monitor invoices for compliance with bids.
• Residents' care: Chart dietetic progress for Residents at least quarterly to meet care plan goals.
• Event planning: Coordinate and plan food preparation activities for special events.Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in a fast-paced cooking environment.
  • Leadership skills: Strong knowledge of the practices utilized in large scale & therapeutic food prep, and solid leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team member.
