hour, depending on experience.OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS)
is seeking a Lymphedema Therapist to join our Physical Therapy and
Rehabilitation team at UHS Binghamton General Hospital in
Binghamton, NY. The successful candidate will be a licensed
Occupational or Physical Therapist with a Lymphedema Therapy
Certification. Licensed OTs and PTs who are pursing their
Lymphedema Therapy Certification may be considered for the role if
they meet other qualifications and intend to become certified
within 3 months of employment. This is a full-time,

ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you'll make a real impact by
providing specialized care to patients with lymphedema, guiding
them through their treatment journey, and advocating for their
long-term well-being.Perform comprehensive patient evaluations -
Review medical histories, interpret physician prescriptions, and
assess a patient's strengths, limitations, and goals to develop a
personalized care plan.Provide expert lymphedema treatment -
Utilize Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) techniques, including
manual lymph drainage, multilayer bandaging, and customized
compression garment selection and fitting. Adjust treatment plans
as needed based on patient progress.Support patients through
education and training - Teach patients and caregivers how to
manage lymphedema at home, including self-care strategies,
exercises, and lifestyle modifications for long-term symptom
management.Develop home exercise programs - Tailor movement and
strengthening exercises to each patient's needs, ensuring they
maintain functional abilities and prevent complications.Ensure
accurate and thorough documentation - Maintain detailed patient
records, including assessment findings, treatment progress, and any
modifications to care plans, in compliance with regulatory and
reimbursement requirements.Advocate and coordinate care for
patients - Help patients access the services, resources, and
financial assistance they need, ensuring equitable care for all
individuals with lymphedema.Collaborate with healthcare providers
and stakeholders - Work closely with physicians, specialists, and
team members to develop cohesive, interdisciplinary care plans that
address the full spectrum of patient needs.Partner with vendors for
compression therapy solutions - Assist patients in obtaining
appropriate compression garments by navigating insurance coverage,
securing financial funding resources, and ensuring the best fit for
their needs.Engage in quality improvement initiatives - Contribute
to program enhancements, performance improvement projects, and best
practice development to advance lymphedema treatment within our
healthcare system.Lead and educate as a lymphedema expert - Serve
as a resource for colleagues, patients, and the community by
sharing your expertise and advocating for advancements in
lymphedema care.Participate in research and innovation - Explore
new methods and technologies in swelling management, compression
therapy, and preventative care, ensuring we remain at the forefront
of patient-centered treatment.Position QualificationsMinimum
Requirements:Graduate of an accredited program of Occupational or
Physical Therapy with applicable degreePossession of a NYS license,
or eligibility to be licensed, as a practicing Occupational or
Physical Therapist New York StateCPR certification within the first
3 months of employmentCurrent LANA Certification in Lymphedema
Therapy or completed certification within 3 months of
employmentPreferred:Previous clinical experience in lymphedema
therapyPrevious clinical experience in hospital-based inpatient
services and/or outpatient therapy servicesNational Board
